What’s your mission at Allianz?
As a data scientist, I am responsible for discovering insights from massive amounts of structured and unstructured data. My main tasks are working closely with customers, decision-makers and stakeholders, collecting and reprocessing data, as well as the implementation, validation and deployment of machine learning models. The most exciting part of my work day is when we predict the future and challenge reality with a very low tolerance range (inferior to Epsilon)!

What’s your career progression?
I joined Allianz Technology as an intern. My role was to train the predictive model (one of the main components of Allianz’ anti-fraud-solution) for Allianz Austria using historical data.
Furthermore, I worked on additional topics, such as ServiceNow, Natcat and cyber security using different machine learning approaches, e.g. Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision.

What's surprising about your job?
When I speak about Artificial Intelligence to my parents, they think that I create big robots and magic tools. Actually I gain insights from analyzing massive amounts of structured (Excel files and old databases) and unstructured data (images, PDF files etc.) to predict the future.
