Enterprise Business Architecture (Financial Systems)

The Enterprise Business Architect (EBA) specialized in Financial Systems is responsible for aligning the organization's business strategy with its financial systems and processes. This role involves designing and optimizing the architecture of financial systems to ensure they support business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The EBA collaborates with various stakeholders, including finance, IT, business units, and senior leadership, to develop and enforce business architecture policies, standards, and procedures.
You Will
Strategic Alignment:
- Develop and maintain the business architecture framework for financial systems.
- Ensure alignment between financial systems and the organization's strategic goals.
- Conduct assessments to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in financial systems.
Architecture Design and Optimization:
- Design and optimize the architecture of financial systems, including ERP, accounting, treasury, and financial reporting systems.
- Ensure that financial systems are scalable, secure, and capable of supporting business growth.
- Implement best practices for financial data management and integration.
Policy and Standards Enforcement:
- Create and enforce business architecture policies, standards, and procedures specific to financial systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, Basel III).
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with finance, IT, and business units to integrate financial systems into overall business processes.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on financial systems best practices.
- Communicate financial system architecture and strategy to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Project Management and Implementation:
- Lead projects related to the implementation, upgrade, and optimization of financial systems.
- Manage cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess the effectiveness of financial system changes.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in financial systems and business architecture.
- Continuously assess and improve the architecture of financial systems.
- Participate in audits and assessments to ensure the robustness of financial systems.
Your Skills
- Financial Systems Expertise: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday), accounting software, and financial reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of financial data management, integration, and analytics.
- Business Process Modeling: Experience with business process modeling tools (e.g., BPMN, UML) and techniques.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS, SOX).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), or CPA (Certified Public Accountant).
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in business architecture or financial systems, with at least 3 years in a financial systems architecture role.
- Project Management: Experience in managing financial system projects and initiatives.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technology and business environments.
- Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and standards (e.g., Basel III, SOX).
