IT Operations Specialist (m/f/d) - Server / Application Infrastructure

JOB PURPOSE/ROLE

The position IT Operations Specialist - Server/Application Infrastructure supports the IT operations of server applications though monitoring and incident solution as well as executing standard requests. You combine your technical and solution competency with collaboration skills with providers and developers. You keep an eye on the service delivery end-to-end including the operational management of our providers. Additionally you are engaged in the definition of IT operations/support requirements and procedures for new or changed services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitoring, solution of incidents and execution of standard requests in our server/application infrastructure landscape
  • Supervise end to end processes and service delivery including operational provider management
  • Definition of requirements of the IT operations/support for development teams to be included in new or changed services
  • Documentation and maintenance of standard operating procedures and known errors
  • Continuous improvement of the operations activities

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • University degree preferably in computer science or comparable work experience
  • Cooperation with and operations steering of external providers
  • Structured work in a process oriented environment including the reliable use of a ticketing system
  • Experience in operations and support of server applications
  • Good Linux skills and understanding of firewalls
  • High degree of motivation, reliability and self-responsibility, team worker and strong communicator and an above-average willingness to perform
  • Participation in update activities on the weekend (few times in a year)
  • Fluent in English, fluent in German is an advantage
