We are looking for a (Senior) Actuarial Analyst (m/f/d), based in Munich.

You will join the Actuarial Department which supports on all global lines of business of Allianz Commercial. We are a key unit in the broader Chief Finance Office function and strategic contributor to the long-term success of Allianz Commercial. The Impact You Will Have 

In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of Global Actuarial Closing & Forecasting. You are an investigative professional with an understanding of balance sheet in different legislations and interest in closing and reporting related topics. Your main tasks will focus on correct and timely delivery of actuarial KPIs and balance sheet positions, particularly in IFRS and SII. You will contribute to the enhancement of quality, checks and controls in the monthly, quarterly and annual closing and reporting process. You will present and explain insights and understanding of the results within the actuarial team as well as to key stakeholders in other functions, particularly Accounting and Global Performance Steering.  

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

  • Deliver correct, in time and well understood actuarial KPIs (e.g. durations) and balance sheet positions within the closing, forecasting and planning processes in different legislative environments, particularly in Solvency II. 

  • Promote close collaboration and interaction within the team and the various key stakeholders, particularly in Accounting and Global Performance Management to foster mutual understanding on the financial developments. 

  • Drive innovation in our processes, identifying areas of inefficiencies and providing ideas for enhancement. 

  • Prepare professional, high standard actuarial analysis of results and reports. 

  • Peer review work from other team members to ensure the quality of work of the team is optimal. 

  • Provide documentation of processes, and thorough checks and controls. 

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

  • Degree preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences or other appropriate discipline or qualified by experience in related discipline. 

  • 1 to 3 years of work experience in relevant P&C insurance areas, ideally actuarial or technical accounting, ideally with experience in Solvency II. 

  • Outstanding analytical thinking skills along with quantitative financial and risk modeling know-how.  

  • Exposure to execution and enhancement of closing and reporting processes.  

  • Job specific knowledge with regards to market dynamics, standard concepts and approaches, regulations/compliance standards, reporting requirements (e.g. reinsurance and underwriting knowledge, reserving techniques, data flows, etc). 

  • Finance and Insurance know-how (ideally P&C) as well as understanding of complexities inherent in an insurance group (consolidation processes, legal vs. management view) allowing for cross-departmental thinking and acting. 

  • Excellent computer skills, particularly MS Office. 

  • Good communication and presentation skills, with an ability to positively influence others. 

  • Ability to work in an international environment and excellent intercultural skills. 

  • Fluent English skills are required, any other language is a plus. 

  • Progress towards recognized professional qualification, actuarial, CFA or MBA is a plus.
