We are looking for you! We are currently hiring a forward-thinking and results-oriented Quantitative Software Developer (f/m/d) to focus on building powerful API solutions for our global digital wealth management offering within our Analytics and Digital Platform (ADP) team. This position is based in our Munich office.

 

risklab is the expert for investment and risk solutions within Allianz Global Investors. Over 60 investment professionals worldwide develop advisory services and solutions that are tailored to individual investment goals of our clients. Within this exciting role, you will be working with a team of experts to implement digital building blocks for quantitative investment advice, tailor them to our client needs and deliver them to internal and external partners via APIs. Additionally, the position offers not only the chance to improve your quantitative development skills but allows you to tap into cloud native application development using innovative technologies. As our digital wealth management offering is a cross-team effort you will work in tight collaboration not only with our investment professionals but with experts from other technology and business teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, document and maintain high quality web APIs for digital wealth management solutions
  • Work closely with investment and finance professionals, data and technology teams to understand business problems and come up with scalable solutions to support business growth
  • Expand existing analytics suite and implement quantitative models for but not limited to portfolio optimization, allocation and simulations

 

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

Required

  • Academic degree in Computer Science, Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or directly related field of study
  • Solid background both in technology and quantitative finance
  • Previous experience in application development ideally with at least one high level language ideally with Python and C#
  • Familiarity with cloud native applications and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes
  • Good understanding of microservices and distributed systems
  • Good understanding of the processes behind API life cycle management, web APIs
  • Good knowledge of database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL databases, cloud storage solutions
  • Familiarity with modern agile software development and testing methodologies with modern ALM tools such as GitHub or Azure DevOps
  • Working knowledge in the fields of Statistics / Econometrics (Linear algebra, Regression, hypothesis testing etc.) and financial mathematics (portfolio theory, mean variance optimization, risk modeling)
  • Basic experience / knowledge in data wrangling and other ETL processes
  • Good data visualization skills
  • Ambitious demeanor and passion for advancing new topics independently and taking responsibility for their implementation and success
  • Empathetic teammate, flexible, pro-active, self-reliant, and forward thinking
  • Willingness and ability to work both independently and as part of a team, in an upbeat, fast-paced, business-critical environment
  • Proficiency in English

Preferred

  • Experience in implementing platforms for investment and risk strategies or equivalent experience
  • Experience in building machine learning pipelines and data-driven applications
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB would be a plus
