Steph, Communications Specialist, joined Allianz after working in communications and content creation with other financial services providers. Steph attributes her job satisfaction at Allianz to the diverse and inclusive workplace culture that is consistent across the whole organisation.

“Having a genuinely open and inclusive environment really makes you want to come to work, every day. Prior to joining the transformation program team at Allianz, I had worked for a few companies in financial services, but struggled to feel comfortable expressing myself. I was drawn to Allianz because I’d heard about their inclusive values and their commitment to diversity.”

A welcoming team

 

Steph says it was her team and leaders that made her feel comfortable to speak about her partner Gemma, from the outset - without the need to use gender-neutral language, which Steph says is a relief after having navigated this in some of her previous workplaces.

“Allianz has done a great job of creating a welcoming environment for employees. It’s really great the way that everyone is encouraged to express themselves, without fear or prejudice. From my very first day on the job, my leaders and team made an effort to provide a genuinely inclusive and supportive environment - asking inclusive questions, chatting openly. It makes me want to work harder and be more productive.”

Steph also shares that she’s proud to work for a company that is consistent with their values and their actions, when it comes to inclusivity. With a number of employee networks, such as Allianz Pride and Allianz Neo, employees can take part in mentorship programs, learning opportunities, networking and social events.

“The Allianz employee networks are a great way to meet colleagues with similar interests and experiences and to take part in learning programs and fun group activities. I’m really proud to be part of a company where everyone is celebrated for who they are.”
