The diversity of people at Allianz equals diversity of thought
Focusing on the difference they can make to customers is always top of mind for Allianz’s Personal Injury team. With a collaborative approach, they bring their different experiences and views together to deliver the best outcomes for customers who look to Allianz for support during challenging times.

“Having shared values is important to how the Personal Injury team broadly and the Risk and Compliance team within it, works to add value. This ensures that the team is able to deliver for our customers and stakeholders. We’re accountable and trust in each other’s' abilities so that we can work towards achieving our common goal,” says Naveen Supramaniam, Senior Risk & Compliance Manager for Personal Injury.
Like Australia, the Personal Injury team reflects a broad and diverse demography, and as Naveen explains, everyone’s individual experience and background is warmly welcomed.
His team is made of a breadth of people – from different cultural backgrounds, genders, ages, work experience and more. When solving problems, each person has a unique perspective derived from their experiences. Looking at things from various points of view and collaborating effectively to come up with the best solution truly demonstrates the value of the diversity on the team.
“There is a breadth of knowledge and diversity of thought and ideas on the team and being able to tap into all these different perspectives is invaluable,” he says.
“The many varied experiences and insights of my colleagues make my work more fulfilling and enjoyable and has a positive effect on how I personally approach my role.”
From aircraft engineer to risk & compliance manager
Naveen started his career as an engineer working for an aircraft manufacturer in Germany, before going back to university to study financial services. His career has taken him all over the world; from the UK to New York, and the Caribbean. Today, he leads a team of assurance professionals in Allianz Australia’s Risk and Compliance function, within the wider Personal Injury team.
“Allianz Australia welcomed me into a new industry and presented me with new challenges, such as building and developing a team,” Naveen says. “It has been so rewarding to join a diverse group of people across the organisation and globally. We work with our colleagues in Personal Injury to provide guidance and assurance to ensure we’re managing our operational and regulatory compliance risks. I enjoy being a part of a team that works across the entire division that adds value by finding opportunities to strengthen our compliance and operations.”
Each day is different
With the scope of his responsibilities, and exposure to colleagues across the business beyond Personal Injury, no two days are the same.
“Just some of what keeps me occupied is forward planning for assurance activities for our Personal Injury business, leading and overseeing my team through their work and their professional development,” Naveen says. With so many unique individuals, it’s important to have as much diversity in the opportunities as there is diversity in our people.

“Allianz really enables people to grow professionally while also supporting their need to balance their work and personal life through flexible ways of working. It’s a very welcoming and inclusive place to work.”
“I’m always appreciative of the culture we enjoy and the opportunities I have to develop and make progress in all aspects of my life.”
