‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ It’s a question that often leaves people wondering about their future. Some people have their career paths clearly defined from a young age, while others go on to complete a university degree and still aren’t quite sure.

Carey started her journey at Allianz in our graduate program, within the general insurance cohort, and later transitioned to the digital team.

    After studying commerce at university, I still wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do,” Carey shares. “I chose the grad program at Allianz primarily because of the opportunity for rotations. It gave me a sense of freedom where I was actively encouraged to explore different areas of the business.

     

     

During this time, Carey worked across several consumer divisions, including direct motor, transformation motor and financial institutions. These rotations provided her with invaluable insights into Allianz's varied customer interactions, from the initial quote stage to website interactions and renewal cycles. The common thread linking it all was digital.

After four rotations as part of the grad program, Carey discovered her sweet-spot in the digital team. She embraced the opportunity to work on a variety of digital journeys and projects, gaining experience in interpreting analytics and developing engaging content and strategies.

Creating innovative and sustainable digital solutions

Today, Carey plays a key role in improving the presentation of Allianz online, ensuring a seamless digital experience for customers.

Carey explains, “The exposure I gained during the grad program has given me an in-depth understanding of how Allianz operates, so now I can apply that knowledge to enhance the experience for customers, across all of our digital touchpoints.”

Carey and her team explore innovative ways to deliver insurance services to customers in a contemporary, seamless and engaging way. In addition to enhancing the customer experience, initiatives such as pre-populating application data, providing estimates of rebuild costs, and offering accurate insurance cost estimates also contribute Allianz's commitment to digital sustainability.

Talking about her role as a committee member for the Allianz Network for Equity and Opportunity (NEO), Carey says, “The enthusiasm that leaders and teams here show in embracing gender equity, inclusivity and change is really encouraging.
