We are looking for a Senior Claims Handler for our Alternative Risk Transfer Team based in London. 

 

Your Team  

In the Alternative Risk Transfer Line of Business (ART LoB), we create innovative tailored structured insurance, captive reinsurance and other non-traditional risk management solutions for a wide range of corporate and financial clients globally. We specialize in helping our customers mitigate their most complex risks with bespoke multi-year and multi-line agreements covering a broad range of risks, leveraging our expertise in alternative risk transfer and the global capabilities of the Allianz Group. We operate in Zurich, Liechtenstein, London, New York and Singapore. 

 

The Impact You Will Have  

We are in search of a Senior Claims Handler as part of our Global Claims Team within the Alternative Risk Transfer line of business. You will manage a portfolio of international reinsurance claims and multi-line/multi-year deals, involving investigation, negotiation, and resolution. Responsibilities include account administration, complex issue resolution, coordinating third-party services, and conducting coverage evaluations. You will provide high-quality service to internal and external customers, maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients. This role offers opportunities for innovation and growth in Allianz Commercial. 

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

  • Proactively managing allocated claims portfolio(s) 

  • Directing internal and independent external service providers, such as Loss Adjusters 

  • Investigating high exposure domestic and international claims that involve complex issues 

  • Resolving a variety of high exposure, complex claims, ensuring cost-effective, service-oriented solutions 

  • Ensuring all claims are handled within authority limits and in line with Allianz Commercial Claims Standards procedures and guidelines 

  • Proactively supporting the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business, including client and broker negotiations where necessary 

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and other relevant stakeholders, such as third-party adjusters 

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

  • Knowledge of the claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery for multiline of business, ideally with a background in property or liability 

  • Knowledge of reserving principles and practices, with a robust understanding of quota-share, coinsurance, and reinsurance principles 

  • Understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures 

  • Ability to negotiate the best position for Allianz Commercial and clients in collaboration with the ART LoB Legal team and external counsel 

  •  Good understanding of ART LoB insurance markets and competitors' landscape 

  • Ability to work in an international matrix organization and develop strong connections 

  • Fluent in English and additional language skills are welcome
