About the Role
As the Compliance Assurance Manager (UK & Ireland), you will be responsible for building a UK compliance assurance programme and then maintaining and progressively improving it over time. The programme will provide an independent second line view of the systems, processes and controls in place to achieve compliance with Allianz Partners UK and Ireland’s regulatory obligations and relevant policies and procedures, with a strong focus on customer outcomes.
The programme development aspect of the role in particular requires a strategic approach, strong stakeholder management skills and solid experience of applying different compliance assurance methodologies, ideally in a general insurance setting.
You will report to the Compliance Officer UK and be part of the regional and global compliance team which actively supports and oversees the UK and Ireland business in managing its regulatory risk profile.
Main Duties
• Developing and implementing a UK focused compliance assurance programme, methodology and toolset to meet regulatory and internal standards.
• Executing compliance assurance reviews to identify and address areas for improvement.
• Provide timely and considered assurance to the first line of defence on a range of general insurance topics, including, but not limited to: Product Governance; ICOBS; Conduct Risk; Consumer Duty;
• Developing assurance plans, preparing compliance reports, and communicating findings to senior management.
• Identifying and mitigating compliance risks in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
• Partner with other Compliance team members and first line colleagues to identify areas of high regulatory and conduct risk.
• Collaborating with legal, risk management, and internal audit teams for a unified compliance approach.
• Support the continued evolution of a proportionate control environment so that key regulatory risks are appropriately managed.
About you
• Specific experience of leading compliance assurance programmes, ideally in a general insurance context.
• 5+ years of experience within a Compliance function.
• A sound knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements and key conduct related priorities within insurance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to take complex issues and communicate them in a simple, easily understood way.
• Can independently manage a portfolio of work and balance the demands of maintaining high quality work and delivering to deadlines.
• Quickly master unfamiliar businesses, process or products. Able to logically analyse and assess them.
• Empathy, including the ability to anticipate the impact of our activities for retail customers.
• Pro-active and not afraid to challenge the status quo.
