We are looking for a Financial Accounting Expert (m/f/d), based in Munich. 

  

The Impact You Will Have 

As a member of the Financial Closing & Reporting Team you will support our IFRS, Solvency II and HGB reporting; and strengthen our governance.

As part of your job, you will participate in and lead international projects and change efforts working together closely with colleagues from various branches and subsidiaries across the globe.  

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

  • Ensure that the AGCS group monthly global IFRS financial closing is carefully planned, coordinated and meets the required timelines  
  • Ensure that the AGCS global segment overview results estimation is regularly prepared and distributed to senior management including the CFO  
  • Coordinate the quarterly global Solvency II closing  
  • Ensure that governance topics are actively managed including drafting and updating guidelines  
  • Ensure that Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) governance topics are actively managed including coordinating global set up of controls and the implementation of new controls  
  • Draft, update and negotiate service level agreements  
  • Monitor outsourced services and ensure that appropriate controls are implemented and performed (e.g. investment accounting and Italy Branch)  
  • Ensure that the Finpedia process is managed properly     
  • Ensure that all financial closing and reporting tasks in your area of responsibility are completed accurately, professionally and in a timely manner  
  • Coordinate the quarterly AGCS SE HGB closing  
  • Ensure compliance with external reporting requirements for IFRS and local reporting requirements (i.e. HGB and Solvency II) and support the related projects  
  • Prepare and present management reports, analyze and comment on financial data and answer management questions   
  • Liaise with international subsidiaries and branches of AGCS SE and answer financial closing related questions from our Allianz Group Accounting department  
  • Coordinate and perform internal quality controls   
  • Participate in international finance projects and change management initiatives in an agile environment  
  • Assist in the development and improvement of processes and the implementation of internal controls  
  • Be a point of contact for internal and external auditors  

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

  • About 5-7 years of experience in international accounting, finance or controlling (preferably in an insurance or auditing company)  
  • Strong educational background in finance and/or accounting, preferably a Master's degree in finance   
  • Very good knowledge of IFRS and experience in dealing with complex accounting issues   
  • Knowledge of HGB, tax regimes and corporate tax rules   
  • Advanced MS Office skills (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint).  
  • Pronounced analytical skills and the ability to navigate complexity:  effectively document, make sense of, analyze root causes of complex issues, processes and data (flows), respond to complex/ambiguous situations by identifying and initiating appropriate remediation and follow ups  
  • Can-do attitude and the ability to come up with new initiatives and ideas and you are a highly organized, self-motivated team player who is able to work under pressure          
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English  

 

Ideally you will also have

  • Demonstrated experience in Solvency II reporting   
  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional projects and leading change in an international and agile environment  
  • Very good SAP FI / SAP BW knowledge   
  • Strong communication and presentation skills: ability to understand, elaborate and convey information clearly and effectively in respect to the audience / level of management (both verbal and in writing)   
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in German would be a plus
