About the Role:

Reporting to the General Manager Consumer Products and Portfolios, you will define and drive the strategic direction of the Motor products and portfolio, ensuring appropriate oversight of each product and portfolio is in place to ensure they meet agreed financial and governance metrics.

 

Other key aspects of the role:

  • Leading the development and implementation of the Motor product and portfolio.
  • Continuously monitoring customer needs and scan market developments to identify opportunities for product innovation. 
  • Leading the implementation of product governance and risk frameworks for the Motor product and portfolios, overseeing the continuous governance, ensuring their technical design meets regulatory standards.
  • Defining the risk appetite for the Motor products and portfolio in line with the enterprise risk appetite statement, ensuring adherence.
  • Overseeing the development of Target Market Determinations and ensure Product Design and Distribution Obligation requirements are met.
  • Leading the development and implementation of key performance indicators and relevant measurement indices for Motor products and portfolio. 
  • Driving the continuous monitoring of trends and growth opportunities, including identification of underperforming segments and driving remedial actions to address any variances between actual and forecasted performance. 
  • Liaising with the pricing team to determine pricing strategies to ensure the adequacy of pricing for the Motor product lines and portfolio.
  • Leading the development of appropriate governance and underwriting controls in line with relevant frameworks, including the setting and implementation of underwriting rules and guidelines and the provision of compliance assurance for the Motor products and portfolio.
  • Leading and coaching team members to develop capability continuously, build high performing, collaborative and engaged teams.
  • Understanding global best practice, customer trends and insights to develop a compelling vision, strategy and plan that put the best interests of our customers at the heart of everything we do.

 

Important to your success:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Extensive portfolio and product management experience in a senior management role for a complex, matrixed general insurance organisation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of products, industry practices and governing legislation.
  • Expert, strategic planning and relationship management capability.
  • Proven analytical, critical thinking and decision-making abilities to evaluate complex alternatives, make confident judgements and develop innovative, sophisticated solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.
