Job Purpose

This role is to steer, oversee and support the Regional Compliance Function in fulfilling its tasks relating to compliance governance, risk management, oversight, and monitoring in relation to Asia Pacific Region Operating Entities (AZAP OEs), as well as Regional Office in Singapore (AZAP). It includes providing support and guidance on compliance matters and escalated topics with focus on developing compliance oversight and monitoring strategy for Asia Pacific Operating Entities and to act as a liaison and relationship manager for selected entities and Group Compliance and AZAP relevant functions.

What you do

  • Coordinate and lead regional compliance assurance program (incl./ compliance and targeted reviews, compliance spot-checks) specifically as it relates to the Allianz Global Non Finacial risk managment programme;
  • Interface and closely cooperate with various stakeholders incl. key control functions;
  • Support and conduct compliance due diligence related to M&A and other strategically important projects;
  • Develop and execute compliance adequacy and effectiveness testing across all OEs;
  • Support monitoring of Non-financial risk management (“NFRM”) in AZAP OEs; 
  • Ensure sharing of best practices and lessons learnt across the region;
  • Provide business-oriented compliance advice to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations;
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments in the region.
  • Identify, evaluate and monitor compliance risks across all key pillars of the business

What you bring

  • Extensive experience in leading and conducting audits, reviews;
  • Extensive experience in Insurance / banking / regulatory work;
  • Extensive Experience in controls assurance and Non financial risk management
  • Fluent verbal and written English are required; 
  • Strong analytical problem solving and communication skills; 
  • Proven team player and ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues from different backgrounds, functions, and cultures. 
  • Exposure to NFRM model 
  • Exposure and good understand to Risk Management Models 
  • Experience in people leadership;
  • Experience leading across multiple jurisdictions;
  • The ability to investigate and define problems and develop workable solutions;
  • Understand key insurance / asset management specific key business actions as well as their interactions and interdependencies, as well as market developments. 
  • Experience working with frameworks across all known compliance risk classes
  • under or postgraduate in law, accounting or similar fields
  • 10+ years' work experience in compliance, audit, risk or related role within an insurance or financial services company;
