What you do
Working as a member of the global Allianz Partners Corporate Actuarial department you will be part of the Paris team responsible for the reserving of the Business Units (country based businesses). You will operate in a global set-up within an international insurance group specialized in travel, assistance and product protection insurance which has impressive business growth and ambition. The role can either be based in Paris or Munich.
You will play a key role in the reserving activity for Travel & Assistance business held at group level interacting with local entities throughout Europe. You will also hold responsibilities for harmonizing and documenting IFRS and Solvency II related actuarial methods and processes, and will develop as a key contributor to a wide range of finance transformation projects.
Key responsabilities
- Reserving
o Manage the quarterly IFRS reserves process end-to-end for assigned European business units.
o Understand and analyse the quality of the data in terms of coherency, completeness and consistency.
o Analyse quarterly IFRS reserves to determine the appropriate IBNR level for run-off and new businesses.
o Engage with local business units to present the corporate actuarial view on reserving.
o Proactively manage relationship with local finance departments.
o Contribute to harmonise and maintain the IFRS and Solvency II related actuarial methods, assumptions and calibration across all business units and lines of businesses.
- Projects
o Engage with underwriting departments and develop as a subject matter expert on pricing/underwriting from a corporate actuarial view perspective.
o Contribute to the project aiming at implementing the IFRS 17 standards for assigned business.
o Contribute to the design, implementation and testing of a new reserving workflow.
- Processes and Controls
o Responsible for the design, implementation and timely execution of internal controls applicable to the reserving process both for IFRS and Solvency II.
o Engage with the internal control department to provide relevant information and raise concerns or issues to the Actuarial Corporate Director.
- Documentation
o Design and implement the documentation repository of the department.
o Draft assigned documentation related to technical methodologies or functional processes.
What you bring
▪ Professional experience of at least 1 years in P&C actuarial or risk management activities (consultancy/audit experience an asset).
▪ Qualification in a recognised actuarial association is an asset.
▪ Expertise in actuarial software and tools (SAS or ResQ an asset).
▪ Drafting and communication skills.
▪ Good project and stakeholders management skills.
▪ Ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders.
▪ Proactive behaviour.
▪ Team player.
▪ Good spoken and written English.
