Allianz Global Investors continues to develop and grow its Infrastructure Debt investment management business both in Europe as well as the US and Latin American Market. The infrastructure debt platform now has over $30bn under management and has a reputation as a market leader in the sector providing innovative solutions often in a fast-moving deal-focused environment

 

Allianz Global Investors is seeking a forward thinking and results oriented intern for the US Infrastructure Debt team. The intern will support the investment team on a broad range of responsibilities as related to Infrastructure Debt. The position will be based in our New York City office and will be for 12 months.

What you do:

  • Creating and reviewing project finance and/or corporate three statement financial models, running sensitivities and summarizing outputs
  • Reviewing project documents and due diligence materials, including commercial, technical, and legal
  • Drafting screening memoranda for prospective opportunities with support from deal team and contributing to credit memoranda for investment committee approvals
  • Research on sector trends, market updates, and produce industry overview as needed
  • Assisting in the negotiation of key documents, including finance documents, project agreements and sub-contracts
  • Assist in ongoing oversight, management, and reporting of existing investments, including the review of operating performance against business plans
  • Support fundraising efforts by assisting in the preparation of presentations and materials, with guidance and input from Investment Directors and VPs.
  • Support in transaction closing documentation and investment tracking  
  • Maintenance of deal pipeline spreadsheet and periodic portfolio status and pricing updates
  • Develop Close working relationship with:

  • US and European Infrastructure Debt team members
  • Operations and Asset Management
  • Sales and Client Services department

What you bring:

  • Graduated with Bachelor’s or Candidate for / graduated with Master’s degree in finance, economics or business from an accredited university  
  • Ideally relevant professional or academic experience in a similar role with a strong emphasis on banking/ finance/investment, prior experience in project finance and/or infrastructure sector is a strong plus
  • Team spirit, works well in a small team and proactively in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, French, or German is a plus.
  • Good working knowledge of private debt markets and experience in real assets /infrastructure/project financing and M&A preferred
  • Expertise in creating and reviewing Excel financial models for both corporate and project finance transactions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
