IT Database Developer

Contributes to building the physical databases taking into account access, storage, performance, and maintenance of each database. Develops the code for database access from applications plus any integration code needed to load the database with data from other sources. Understands the Database Management operating systems and how to optimize them. Must possess knowledge of operational and data warehousing techniques and remain current with strategic direction of database technologies.

 What you do

• Develop database code for application access, integration between databases, manipulation of data, or retrieval of data.
• Develop and optimize physical database schema and storage mechanisms. Assure code adherence to standards and best practice. Formulate objectives, scope and cost estimates.
• Maintain understanding of the data operating system environment, system utilities, debugging tools and monitoring tools. Also understand the underlying technology architecture and how it affects database code.
• May participate in interviews for consultants and employees.
• May also act as the technical lead for development of databases for assigned projects.
• Improve and advocate for corporate database standards, procedures and policies for all database platforms.
   

 What you bring

•   3-6 years experience required: Experience as a database developer or operational DBA is required
• Four-year degree required: Degree or equivalent work experience             

Locations

• Hybrid 3 days/week in Minneapolis, MN
