This role is part of the Financial Crimes Unit at Allianz Life and will own the Company’s Anti-Money Laundering and Economic Sanctions Standards. The candidate will report directly to the Head of the Financial Crimes Unit and act as a delegate of the MLRO, with the responsibility of managing and maintaining the organization’s obligations as it relates to AML and Sanctions Program requirements. In addition, the candidate will be responsible in helping to plan and execute strategy, as well as for tactical execution of the components of a mature and robust AML Program.
The role involves working with many parts of the Organization including Legal, Ethics & Compliance, IT, Digital, Operations, Distribution, and other cross-functional teams. It also will include other responsibilities such as the support of the AML Project, support to the AML/Sanctions & Agent Oversight (ASA) Team, and support to components of other Financial Crimes Programs, by collaborating within our broader Financial Crimes Unit.
The candidate will have the opportunity to have a positive impact on the direction of these Programs for the Company, enhancing governance and planning (including AML Committee), oversight, risk assessment, training and communication, and reporting to various stakeholders such as Senior Leadership, Board of Directors, and Group Financial Crimes.
What you do:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead AML Policy and Functional Rules
- Management and execution of second line monitoring and oversight activities, risk assessment, mitigation and remediation
- Support the build of the broader FCU Governance & Controls Framework
- Compliance with regulatory framework put in place by local and international stakeholders
- Support AML technology implementation
- Own AML & Sanctions KPIs and KRIs, analysis, and trend reporting
- Engage regulators and auditors and support regulatory examinations and audits
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- 6-7 years experience in risk, compliance, or legal role, preferably AML
- Experience developing and implementing compliance programs
- Ability to maintain relationships and reporting requirements with multiple lines of business
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; strong time management and prioritization skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Manages relationships with internal customers and stakeholders, including development and delivery presentations
- Displays a solid level of understanding of AML and Group and regulatory requirements
- CAMS standard certification
