Key responsibilities
 

The Senior Vendor Manager is a senior role that encompasses two key areas: (1) Lead our IT Vendor Management team and develop the emerging function and associated capabilities, and (2) Develop and optimise relationships with our outsourced IT partners to deliver and exceed contract requirements.

 

The role is responsible for driving value creation through effective collaboration, strategic alignment, and proactive engagement with suppliers, particularly Tier 1 strategic partners. 

 

Through wthis role, you will focus mainly on below activities: 

 

  • Take ownership of the overall relationship and management of Tier 1 IT service providers, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and alignment with organisational goals and IT strategy.

  • Drive and influence suppliers to meet and exceed contract requirements, setting high expectations for delivery.

  • Set direction and priorities with suppliers to evolve the service delivery, keeping it relevant to business requirements.

  • Ensure efficient, collaborative ways of working are in place between Allianz Partners and our strategic partners, minimising disruptions.

  • Maintain senior-level relationships with supplier counterparts and effectively articulate Allianz Partners' interests.

  • Ensure Allianz Partners upholds its contractual obligations to suppliers, such as overseeing timely payments and ensuring contracts are in place ahead of delivery.

  • Drive initiatives to ensure maximum value creation from partnerships, leveraging vendor capabilities to enhance organisational performance and efficiency.

  • Lead major commercial negotiations with Partners, or provide guidance and steer to Contract Managers leading negotiations, as appropriate.

  • Own the governance model with Tier 1 suppliers and play an integral role within it, including regular site visits to supplier premises.

  • Maintain internal relationships with stakeholders within Allianz Partners to understand requirements, synthesise solutions from relevant IT partners, and identify areas for improvement.

  • Develop the capability of the IT Vendor Management function against the approved strategy towards the target state including the identification of existing gaps towards the target, roadmap development and adherence to achieve it mitigating risks and challenges along the way.


What you bring

 

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a practitioner of IT delivery in a multi-national company or as an IT Provider in such environment.

  • Proven track record of working in a IT Vendor Management environment.

  • Deep understanding of Enterprise IT, outsourcing, industry trends, best practices, and relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and pursue savings and efficiency opportunities.

  • Sound understanding of process costs, ability to work with Clients and Service Providers to ensure effective operations.

  • Communication: Excellent written, presentation and interpersonnal skills. Ability to communicate complex concepts in simple ways.

  • Independently follow-up with stakeholders to aid in solution development.

  • Stakeholder management: ability to influence, guide and build relationships at a senior level within Allianz Partners.

  • Ablility to interact with senior level management.

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Law, Business Studies, IT or Finance, or relevant experience.

  • ITIL Foundation preferred. COBIT 5 as a plus

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
