This is a great moment to join Allianz Global Investors, as we are currently seeking to expand our energetic and engaged team with a highly motivated intern willing to explore new challenges in a dynamic environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of a Streamlit-based web application that leverages our API endpoints to provide users with valuable insights into our quantitative models. In addition, you will be conducting research on the topic of large (and small) language models to further enhance the application and implement cutting-edge functionality. We are looking for an intern (full-time) for a duration of 6 months, based in Munich.

What you will do

• Build a Streamlit-based web application that leverages our API endpoints to provide users with valuable insights into our quantitative models
• Conduct research in the area of language modelling with a focus on LLMs
• Fine-tune large and small language models on downstream tasks to ensure they are used to their full potential
• Build prototypes and test research ideas in Python.

What you bring

• Master level student in Data Science, Quantitative Finance, Financial Mathematics, Computed Science, or any other quantitative discipline
• Strong level of probability theory and statistics. Econometrics and time series analysis is a plus
• Strong level of Python programming and OOP design principles
• Strong understanding of modern ML architectures and training methods in the LLM context
• Experience with pytorch
• First experience with RAG and agentic workflows is a big plus (either via internships, university courses or private projects)
• First experience in the financial industry is a plus
• Fluent in English.
