Who will you be joining?
Intern in Group Sustainable Operations (Focus: Local Environment Office of Allianz SE)
The Group Sustainable Operations Team:
- Drives the COO sustainability agenda and implements the strategy for Operations and IT in accordance with the Group Sustainability Strategy, ESG Board and other internal stakeholders; Focus on the implementation of the net-zero strategy for Allianz internal operations
- Supports execution of local environmental activities and initiates dialogue and best practice sharing across various Allianz entities
- Coordinates existing and new partnerships with global reach (e.g. Sea Shepherd) to increase Allianz’s ESG impact and visibility to larger and new audiences
- Brings Sustainability into organizational DNA of Allianz and mindset of employees to further increase employees' engagement and deliver on Allianz’s purpose
- Additionally, the Local Environment Office of Allianz SE is part of the Group Sustainable Operations Team and coordinates sustainable operations, reporting and environmental management for Allianz SE as an organization
How can you make an impact?
- You will support the Local Environment Officer (LEO) with all tasks in environmental management/protection for Allianz SE as an organization
- You help shape the communication measures to increase the environmental awareness of the workforce and the environmental performance of the organizational unit
- You support the collection of environmental and reporting data and consolidate/analyse it, with a special focus on travel data
- You actively help with the implementation, control and further development of environmental and energy management systems
- In addition, you will be involved in other individual projects in the context of the Group Sustainable Operations team
- You will support the team with various operational tasks (e.g. planning, coordination, preparation of materials, etc) as required
- You will be engaged in preparing and following-up of events, meetings and workshops
- You will support in designing, producing, and implementing training concepts and learning products (e.g., learning videos, expert interviews, learning nuggets, people engagement initiatives, workshops..)
What are you made of?
Minimum Qualifications
- You are currently working towards a university degree (master, PhD) in sustainability, economics, business administration, environmental sciences, environmental engineering and/or any other related field
- Strong interest and/or knowledge in either sustainable business practices or environmental management
- You are fluent in written and spoken English and minimum B2 German proficiency
- You are confident in using MS365 and have advanced knowledge of Excel
- Ideally you have already gained first practical experience in the fields of sustainability, project management, consulting and/or communications

- Previous experience in business related functions (e.g. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital/ Tech etc.) is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding the various sustainability topics such as climate change, energy transition, sustainable traveling, reporting
- Experience in data cleaning, data analysis and preparing visual reports for internal stakeholders, e.g. with Excel and PowerBi
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to prepare and formulate complex information clearly and comprehensibly
- Strong ability to work accurately and independently but also be a team player and supporter
- Highly motivated, speak-up and pro-active attitude with self-initiative and hands-on mentality
- Ability to set priorities and take over end-to-end responsibility in an international, diverse, and virtual (hybrid) environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Desired:
- Data Analyst or Project management / consulting experience is a plus
- Interest and experience in sustainability reporting is a plus
- Initial experience in dealing with the international standards ISO 14001 and/or ISO 50001 is a plus
