Role Description
Allianz Commercial London Region is looking for a dedicated Underwriting Team Manager to support one of our London underwriting teams.
The right candidate will be a strong operational team leader who will work within an established team of Mid-Market underwriters, taking ownership of all day-to-day operational results. They will have the skill set to lead the team in a professional way delivering, a high standard of service to both external and internal customers.
This role is based in London and will report into the Regional Operations Manager. This is a hybrid working role with an average expectation of 3 days a week in the office.

This is an excellent position for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Mid-Market Leadership Team in London Branch. You will be working with a team of Insurance professionals who are recognised as experts within their field.

Skills and Experience
Leadership and People Management
- Experience of leading a team, monitoring performance and ensuring your team is focussed on the key challenges at all times ideally within an insurance environment is desirable but not essential.
- Passionate on empowering your team to be market leading experts
- You must enjoy interacting with others, building strong internal and external relationships and have excellent communication skills to drive and foster a team culture.
- You should be confident handling, analysing and interpreting data.
- You should thrive in a fast-paced environment and get a sense of achievement meeting goals and targets.
- Evidence of personal and professional development and commitment to study for and the Chartered Insurance Institute exams (ACII) is essential.
Operational/Technical Management:
You should have experience to effectively prioritise and organise work to maximise opportunities and deliver the business result by:
- Empowering your team to operate utilising best practice in operational efficiency.
- Enabling your team to operate to best advantage by ensuring technical training, authority level advancement and underwriting capability is maximised.
- Monitoring and reporting of relevant KPIs
- Positively roll out new processes as required.
- Project management as required.
Collaboration and Best Practice:
- Providing support to all stakeholders.
- Enthusiastically embrace One Allianz and understand the range of propositions that we have to offer, both within Allianz UK and globally.
- Ensure compliance, both personally and in your team, with corporate governance, Allianz Standards Underwriting (ASU) and regulatory requirements.
- Support Compliance and Corporate Governance across underwriting discipline.
