We are looking for a Pricing Actuary Liability, based in London. 

Your Team  

The Liability Pricing team is part of the Global Pricing department at Allianz Commercial and is responsible for pricing of Large Corporate accounts, tools maintenance and development and portfolio deep-dives.  

You will join an international team with peers located in London, Munich, Singapore and North America. 

The Impact You Will Have  

Our Liability Pricing team is seeking for an experienced qualified actuary for a role within the Pricing function. In this role, you will work closely with other actuaries and underwriters to deliver accurate pricing of new and existing accounts across Europe and beyond. You will be responsible for supporting tool developments and training of junior colleagues. You will be able to collaborate internationally with various stakeholders, both within the Pricing Function and across other Allianz Commercial functions. 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

• Perform front-line case pricing to support profitable underwriting activities, by providing technical expertise and insights on individual account level, which will eventually flow into global portfolio steering decisions   

• Design and propose different program structures to control AGCS’ exposure to losses while meeting clients’ needs; participate in meeting with clients and/or brokers when needed  

• Carry out deep-dive profitability reviews. This will involve preparation of the data and analysis of the profitability of business (sub)segments, as required   

• Develop and maintain pricing tools; this involves the refinement of the tools through recalibrations and the development of appropriate statistical pricing methodologies  

• Establish an excellent working relationship with the Underwriting teams to ensure their long-term support for technical pricing concepts and pricing tools   

• Support projects which affect the use of technical pricing and promote the use of technical pricing at Allianz Commercial 

• Successfully collaborate across the Portfolio Management team and all Allianz Commercial departments  

• Understand market developments globally and ensure that loss trends are understood and reflected in our pricing activities   

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

• Qualified P&C Actuary with significant post qualified experience  

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with great attention to detail  

• Experience in front line Liability case pricing strongly preferred  

• Experience in applying statistical methods in case pricing and setting up complex Monte Carlo simulations  

• Experience in the development and data-driven calibrations of pricing tools  

• Ability to work with complicated multi-national data landscape   

• Strong computer and programming skills in, such as, SQL (or similar), VBA, R, Python an advantage  

• Self-motivated / proactive with natural curiosity to ask probing questions and ensure that those questions lead to appropriate action  

• Partnering mentality with the ability to build strong working relationships with peers, management, and the business areas  

• Experience of commercial lines pricing desirable, ideally large corporate and specialty lines  

• Ability to work in an international / virtual environment  

• Fluency in English
