We are looking for an experienced Liability Risk Consultant to join our UK team, working in a hybrid model out of our central London office.

 

Your Team 

 

Our Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) team is made up of experienced engineers from a wide range of technical and scientific disciplines. The team provides a flexible range of risk consulting services, from natural hazards, fire safety, and human and organizational risk factors to in-depth analysis of industry operations, and financial exposures, across all industry sectors and risks. We also focus on delivering bespoke training plans to help optimize risk management procedures in the long term.

 

You will be joining the international Liability Risk Consulting team which offers support to Allianz Commercial and its customers in the fields of Health Safety & Environment, Product Liability, Public Liability, Employers' Liability, Environmental Liability, product recall and automotive recall. 

 

The Impact You Will Have 

 

Reporting directly to the Regional Risk Consulting Manager and with a matrix line to the UK, Germany and Switzerland Regions Liability Risk Consulting Manager , you will be responsible for providing liability risk control expertise, support and assistance, ensuring that assigned accounts are serviced efficiently and conducting risk dialogues.        

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

 

  • Completing desk top reviews and risk assessments (pre & post loss) for underwriting evaluation and to summarise exposures and controls in any of the Liability areas noted above
  • Working as a Consultant with underwriting and claims, and with the client and broker where appropriate, to develop customised loss-control programmes including locations to be surveyed (or included as part of continuing service), scope and cost of risk consulting services
  • Generating and reviewing reports and recommendations as required
  • Surveying client operations to obtain appropriate data and identify hazards. Discuss findings with appropriate parties. Generate reports following risk dialogue, offering clear recommendations 
  • Supporting the global Liability Risk Consulting team by acting as 4-eyes reviewer for technical specialities and supporting technical developments in the full range of Liability specialities. Your expertise in Workplace Health and Safety and Construction Health and Safety in the UK will be of particular use
  • Play an active role in projects with local or international colleagues, to drive change and build innovative products and services
  • Providing technical training presentations for internal and external clients

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role

 

We'd like to find an experienced Health and Safety Engineer with a minimum of 3 to 7 years’ operational engineering expertise in the UK, ideally in a commercial insurance environment in the Casualty/ Liability lines of business. 

 

Our particular focus is on Workplace Health and Safety, Construction Health and Safety and Environmental management and safety, but any experience you bring in Product Liability, Public Liability, Employers' Liability, Environmental Liability, Product Recall & Automotive Recall, Mining safety is also of interest, as well as knowledge of Property loss control.

 

  • Degree in a Science or Engineering-related subject preferred
  • Knowledge of Corporate insurance coverages and underwriting processes 
  • Demonstrable success in drawing up prevention engineering reports and recommendations 
  • A history of success in supporting clients in risk improvement efforts
  • Strong interest in keeping up with developments in the field and new technologies 
  • Autonomous and reliable, self-driven but also a true team-player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in fluent business English. Additional languages a plus.
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with team members and all stakeholders
  • Able to meet tight reporting deadlines, and able to travel around the UK for site visits
