The Vendor Management Team is part of the Sourcing & Procurement organization, responsible for strategic vendor relationships.

 

The team is currently looking for a senior expert in Vendor & Contract Management to support key areas such as Vendor Governance, Outsourcing Oversight, and Commercial Management.

 

The focus of this role is managing vendor relationships in IT, including data center, cloud operations, network management, security operations, testing, and software development.

 

You will serve as the central contact for internal stakeholders and strategic vendors, managing KPIs, SLAs, and contracts, while ensuring deliverables and service quality are maintained.

 

Additionally, you will work on strategic initiatives to identify optimization opportunities within our partnership environment and service relationships.

 

You will be part of a motivated, diverse, and creative team, collaborating with colleagues from various functions, providing broad global exposure and opportunities to gain knowledge in this field.

 

This position will be based in Frankfurt.

 

What you will do

 

Vendor and Contract Management

  • Develop relationships with strategic suppliers at both tactical and strategic levels and help manage the total portfolio of vendors, services, products, and projects
  • Act as the primary Vendor Manager and central contact for overall management of vendor relationships
  • Track and monitor supplier deliverables and obligations, as well as performance against contractual obligations
  • Financially track contracts, work orders, projects, and audits related to agreements with suppliers
  • Coordinate, prepare, and follow up on contractual governance and operational review meetings
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to increase awareness of contracts, deliverables, and controlling aspects
  • Collaborate closely with various AllianzGI business units to ensure a strong partnership between vendors and the business, fostering an optimal and effective alliance
  • Coordinate periodic risk assessments and ongoing tracking of risk mitigation actions
  • Monitor and track issues and facilitate issue resolution
  • Administer contracts, contract changes, and related documentation in close coordination with functional owners and AllianzGI’s Legal department

 

Commercial Management

  • Work collaboratively with vendors and other internal stakeholders to identify continuous cost improvement strategies
  • Verify supplier charges (prices and volumes) and commercial/financial reports
  • Design commercial models and lead commercial negotiations
  • Manage the RFP/RFQ process from initiation to vendor selection
  • Lead internal preparations for vendor negotiations by aligning with various support functions (e.g., IT Governance, Finance and Controlling, Legal and Compliance)
  • Support the budgeting process through cost baselining, spend analysis, and implementation of cost mitigation measures
  • Lead business case creation and tracking for strategic outsourcing projects

 

What you bring

 

  • Master’s degree in business administration or comparable qualification
  • Solid understanding of the investment management business and value chain across functional experience within the finance/investment industry within asset management operations (middle office, fund accounting, transfer agency, data management, investment analytics) or knowledge of IT industry, tools, and processes
  • 8+ years’ experience in strategic Vendor & Contract Management practices with international sourcing partners
  • Strong interpersonal skills: communication, conflict management, analytical thinking and problem solving, excellent negotiation skills, stakeholder management
  • Highly organized with ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Detail oriented and abilities to work with large sets of qualitative and quantitative data
  • High intercultural awareness
  • Ability to handle a rapidly changing environment and to interface professionally with all levels of management
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to easily communicate complex ideas
  • Demonstrable track record in a global matrix organization
  • Certifications in ITIL foundation / Prince 2 foundation / Six sigma / IACCM preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of MS including Office 365 and Power suite (PowerBI, PowerApps); familiarity with CLM software (e.g., SirionLabs) a plus
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal (German is a plus)
