The Network Security Architect is responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and maintaining the complex network infrastructure to ensure its security, reliability, efficiency, scalability, and redundancy. The focus is to enhance the network security architecture and to carry out the crucial responsibility of embedding security into every aspect of the network, in very close collaboration with Cyber Security Operations and Information Security teams.
This role involves a combination of technical expertise, strategic planning, and communication skills.
This role will be based in Frankfurt and Munich.
What you will do
- Design & Planning: developing high- and low-level network designs that align with our organization goals, requirements, and growth projections
- Security and Compliance: incorporating robust security measures and compliance considerations into the network architecture, incl. firewalls and macro-/micro-segmentation, to protect the network from cyber threats
- Infrastructure Implementation: overseeing the deployment and configuration of network hardware and software components. Ensuring that the implementation adheres to industry best practices and security standards
- Network Troubleshooting and Support: diagnosing and resolving complex network issues, collaborating with other IT teams to provide technical support and resolve escalated network-related incidents
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: designing network redundancy and failover mechanism to ensure business continuity in the event of network outages or disasters. Creating and testing disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime
- Collaboration and Communication: working closely with cross-functional teams, including security experts, system administrators, application developers, business owners, project managers and other stakeholders, to ensure our network architecture supports overall business objectives
- Documentation: Creating and maintaining detailed network documentation, diagrams, and configurations, which serves as references for troubleshooting, maintenance, and future updates
- Capacity and Performance Management: analysing current and future network capacity needs to ensure scalability, performance, and optimal resource utilization. Make informed decisions regarding bandwidth upgrades, hardware enhancements, and other capacity-related aspects to accommodate increasing demands
What you bring
5+ years proven experience on below topics:
- Network Fundamentals: a deep understanding of network concepts, protocols, and technologies is essential. This knowledge forms the foundation for designing robust and efficient network architectures
- Network Design Principles: experience in designing secure, resilient, and scalable network architectures. This includes knowledge of redundancy, load balancing, fault tolerance, and high availability
- Security Concepts: deep knowledge of advanced security architectures
- Cloud Technologies: familiarity with cloud computing platform Azure Native and Azure VMware Solution (AVS)
- Business Understanding: a network architect should be able to align network solutions with the business goals and objectives of the organisation
- Virtualization: understanding of network virtualization and software-defined networking
- Scripting and Automation: proficiency in scripting language to automate network tasks, manage configurations, and streamline processes. Automation skills are crucial for maintaining large-scale network efficiently

- Fluency in English both verbal and written is mandatory, German language skills are a plus
- Vendor certifications are a bonus but not mandatory
