The Actuarial Trainee Programme is a three-year programme. During this training programme you will rotate between a number of Actuarial teams, including Actuarial (Reserving & Capital Modelling), Quantitative Risk, Retail Pricing and Enterprise Pricing. You will have the opportunity to see the many ways Actuaries are involved in driving Allianz Ireland’s business objectives, and work with a vast number of teams across the business including Finance, Portfolio Management and Distribution.

 

From day one our Trainee Actuaries will develop cross functional skills through our integrated learning approach. In your role, you will work with a team of actuaries and analysts to conduct capital modelling, planning and profitability reporting, and will work closely with colleagues in Pricing, Reserving, Data Analytics and across various business units within our General Insurance Business. You will work as part of a number of specialist teams who continue to uphold the highest standard of collaboration, in a hybrid working model. All while completing your Actuarial Exams and availing of our attractive actuarial study package to ensure you the flexibility and support needed to excel in your new role!

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Run, maintain and update established processes, data preparation and reconciliations to support wider analyses across business functions
  • Build, maintain and document data and management information reporting processes
  • Make best use of available and latest datasets to develop approaches and identify emerging issues in the market.
  • Automate and enhance processes to improve efficiencies
  • Manage and update pricing tariffs. Follow appropriate governance, sign off and execution of price changes.
  • Contribute to the annual planning process
  • Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders, sharing knowledge and developing new products and solutions to business problems
  • Support organisational wide strategic projects with technical pricing knowledge
  • Create and sustain strong working relationships with all internal and Allianz group stakeholders

 

 

Experience, Qualifications and Competencies

 

Essential

 

  • Minimum of 2.1 result in a relevant third level qualification e.g.; Actuarial Science, Maths, Economics and Finance, Statistics
  • Excellent numerate and analytical skills
  • Commitment to completing the Actuarial examinations

 

Desirable

  • Experience in RADAR and EMBLEM software
  • Previous experience using actuarial or data manipulation software, e.g. Python, SAS, R, SQL
  • Previous experience working within a corporate or financial services environment
