The Opportunity

The purpose of the role is to assist in the development, communication, and maintenance of underwriting policy and procedures and monitoring adherence to relevant Group and Regulatory Rules. This is an unique opportunity to pursue a career in a technical underwriting role. This role will support both the property and liability Enterprise portfolios.

 

This role is a hybrid role and can be fulfilled mainly remotely, with attendance in the office agreed in advance on an occasional basis.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the development, communicate and maintain underwriting policy and procedures.
  • Support reinsurance administration activities
  • Support scheduled reviews and refreshes of policy documentation, including proposal forms, statements of fact, schedules, policy documents, underwriting guides, and policy summaries.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to implement appropriate underwriting responses
  • In depth understanding and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements such as the Consumer Protection  and Data Protection codes
  • In depth understanding and ensuring adherence to Allianz Standards of Underwriting (ASU) & Functional Rules .
  • Coordinate and support the Technical Product team on all technical referrals to Global Commercial and Global P & C.  
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the team, other areas of the business and external stakeholders
  • Proactively engage and ensure open and ongoing communications with all stakeholders.
  • Be proactive in identifying ways to improve processes and procedures to help make us more efficient and effective in what we do
  • Support the Technical Product Team on other initiatives/tasks as required
  • Commitment to work towards relevant Allianz Group accreditation

 

Essential Experience

  • A  recognised insurance qualification (APA, CIP, ACII or FCII)
  • A minimum of 2 years general  insurance experience.
  • Excellent communication  and negotiation skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of quality and efficiency
  • Ability to work on own initiative

**This role is subject to Minimum Competency Code (“MCC”) as provided for by the Central Bank of Ireland.  A recognised insurance qualification may be required for this position. Appointment to this role will be subject to the requirements provided for by the Central Bank of Ireland.  This role is a Control Function (CF-8) and is subject to F&P Standards. This includes the requirements provided for by the Central Bank (Individual Accountability Framework) Act 2023.
