Objective of the Role

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a UK Compliance Officer to join the business at a time of significant growth and change.

 

The UK Compliance Officer will lead the UK’s second line Compliance function to drive a robust compliance framework, managing escalations and promote compliance across the organization. In addition, the UK Compliance Officer will be a member of the Global Sales Compliance Practice Group, driving consumer protection related topics across Allianz Partners Globally.

 

 

Main Duties

 

  • Compliance Oversight:
    • Drive timely implementation of Global compliance policies and guidelines in the first and second line including adequate reporting requirements;
    • Assess Group compliance policies against UK regulatory and legal requirements and where required ensure adequate localisation;
    • Maintain compliance policies, procedures and controls specific to the UK insurance industry and regulatory environment;
    • Monitor and assess regulatory developments related to UK insurers and insurance distribution firms and adapt the compliance program accordingly;
    • Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant UK licensing and reporting obligations;
    • Hold the SMF16 responsibility;
    • Manage the UK’s SMCR framework, including relevant trainings and oversight;
  • Regulatory Liaison:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, maintaining a strong and cooperative relationship;
    • Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of regulatory reports;
    • Respond to inquiries and requests from regulators promptly and professionally;
  • Global Sales Compliance Practice Group Member:
    • Contribute to  the Allianz Partner’s consumer protection program globally by developing, maintaining, and improving standards, guidelines, and guidance for Allianz Partners Group 
    • Advise Allianz Partner’s lines of business globally on consumer protection matters and oversee implementation or improvement of the global consumer protection program
    • Conduct globally second line reviews on products, customer facing material or other relevant consumer protection related matters
  • Training and Education:
    • Review global compliance training program against local regulatory requirements and where required, develop and deliver UK-specific compliance training programs for employees to ensure a high level of awareness and understanding of UK market and regulatory compliance requirements;
    • Keep the local and global team informed about changes in regulations and best practices in the insurance industry;
    • Monitor internal audit findings related to the Compliance function and drive appropriate remediation action across the business;

 

 

About you

 

  • Degree educated;
  • 10+ years’ experience compliance within a regulated financial services firm;
  • Strong knowledge UK regulatory requirements, experience in Consumer Duty regulatory requirements;
  • Experience in managing regulatory relationships;
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills;
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
  • Proactive and collaborative attitude and working style, as well as ability to interact in a global work environment and cooperate with stakeholders from different countries and cultures and be part of a global Compliance Organization

 

 

Hours:

 

Thirty-five hours a week. However, flexibility will be required in line with the needs of the business.
