Data Platforms, Products & Analytics (DPPA) is responsible within Allianz Technology SE to drive the implementation of the Data Strategy and to deliver modular and reusable Data Solutions to Allianz entities (OE) worldwide, leveraging synergies of skills, scope, and resources. What you do

 

Geospatial Application Development:

  • Design and develop web-based geospatial applications using JavaScript frameworks such as Leaflet, OpenLayers, or Mapbox GL JS.
  • Create interactive maps, integrate with APIs, and display geospatial data with features like markers, polygons, and lines.

Mapping Libraries and APIs:

  • Work with popular mapping libraries and APIs, integrating maps and spatial data into web applications.
  • Utilize geolocation services and mapping APIs to display dynamic and static maps.

GIS Data Integration:

  • Integrate and visualize geospatial data from various sources, including GeoJSON, Shapefiles, GeoTIFFs, and spatial databases.
  • Implement data transformations and projections to ensure accurate visualization.

Spatial Analysis and Queries:

  • Perform spatial queries and analysis using JavaScript libraries to answer questions related to proximity, intersection, and buffering.
  • Implement spatial operations to analyze and manipulate geospatial data.

 

Geocoding and Reverse Geocoding:

  • Integrate geocoding and reverse geocoding services to translate between addresses and geographic coordinates.
  • Implement auto-suggest and place prediction features in mapping applications.

Mobile Geospatial Applications:

  • Develop mobile-friendly geospatial applications using JavaScript frameworks like React Native or Ionic.
  • Implement features such as location tracking, routing, and offline maps.

Integration with Backend Services:

  • Integrate geospatial applications with backend services and APIs to handle data storage, retrieval, and synchronization.
  • Communicate with RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints to exchange spatial data.

 

Geospatial Visualization:

  • Develop data visualization techniques using JavaScript libraries to convey geospatial information effectively.
  • Create thematic maps, choropleth maps, and time-based animations.

 

Testing and Debugging:

  • Implement unit tests and perform debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of geospatial applications.
  • Address performance issues related to map rendering and data visualization.

 

What you bring

 

  •  Graduated in geography, geoinformatics, computer science or business informatics or similar proven work experience
  • Several years of experience in the GIS industry and profound knowledge of the GIS market
  • Experience in agile development (SCRUM), experience in working with distributed teams in different time zones and intercultural competence
  • Several years in the business intelligence and data warehousing development area, understanding of data vault, analytical, conceptual mind, a quick understanding of complex situations and a willingness to bring classical BI to the next level.
  • Ability to present complex issues, take and prepare decisions, cooperativeness, self-reliance, assertive appearance, high resilience, endurance, flexibility, and commitment. Efficiency, effectiveness and stringent focus on results
  • Very good English language skills, orally and in writing
  • Ability to work fully independent and solve complex problems or situations based on multiple sources of information
  • Profound communication skills and the ability to negotiate with a diverse audience, e.g., on senior level
