Job role

 

The Sustainability Manager will support the implementation of the Group Sustainability strategy, the corresponding roadmap, as well as the relevant corporate measures and non-financial reporting.

 

What you will do

 

  • Design and ensure execution of environmental initiatives, programs and related topics for Allianz Group Sustainable Operations
  • Coordinate Corporate Citizenship guidelines integration efforts for Ocean-related partnerships and activities
  • Organize global sustainability-related initiatives to increase employee engagement and oversee global partnerships focused on protection of marine environments
  • Manage and enhance the relationship with the partner organizations and internal stakeholder
  • Further develop the Ocean Concept and interlink with the Allianz business area.
  • Assessment of requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and alignment with internal sustainability/environmental reporting related to Corporate Citizenship requirements
  • Prepare documentation for charitable contributions, including contracts and impact reports
  • Drive and implement volunteering opportunities for Allianz SE and stakeholder OEs
  • Conduct research and benchmarking of key trends in the industry and translate best practices into key insights.
  • Develop and implement employee awareness and engagement opportunities to embed sustainability internally and making it relevant to the entire employee base.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and briefings for Allianz Group top management
  • Support the Allianz SE Corporate Citizenship data collection and reporting process

 

What you bring

 

  • Academic background in environmental sciences, environmental/ecological engineering, sustainability, social sciences, public relations, and/or any other related field
  • Deep understanding of sustainability in the context of a complex international environment, ideally with specialist knowledge in environmental-related fields
  • Previous experience in collaborating with NGOs, including volunteering, corporate collaboration and events management
  • Good project management skills, with proven track record in managing global complex projects with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong business case building experience
  • Agile Certification or experience with an Agile environment is a plus
  • Insurance/investment related knowledge is a plus

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English required; German or another European language is a plus
  • Strong data management and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to drive several projects at once
  • Strong ability to think and act independently and to quickly adapt to new problem settings and situations
  • Proactive, flexible, and energetic team player with a strong personal interest in sustainability issues such as climate change and environmental protection
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
