Job role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Investment Accountant to become part of our team at our Bucharest office. The individual will be tasked with the responsibility of managing the reporting and accounting of investments, in compliance with HGB and IFRS regulations. This role is pivotal to the compilation of quarterly and annual financial statements within the Allianz Group.

 

What you will do

• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and HGB and regulatory reports

• Analyse investment information to recommend the appropriate investment transaction to be posted to the investment accounting system

• Compile journal entries for investment transactions, valuation, amortization, accretion, income accruals and gains/losses for both public markets and alternative investments instruments

• Investment transactions / open item management: recording and control of transactions in SAP IMA, reconciliation between bank and subledger, preparation of bookings

• Preparation of reports: Organize and prepare the required data, filling the reports

• Processing of intercompany and accounts receivable accounting, reconciliation of receivables/payables and monitoring of open items

• Performance of analytical reconciliation tasks within the framework of account responsibility

• Participation in projects related to payment transactions and SAP environment

• Handling the payment and related accounting processes for Allianz companies
• Support in projects and special tasks of the Investment Accounting

• Reviews and recommends improvements to the internal control environment in the investment accounting and operations processes.

 

What you bring

• Strong academic background (preferably Accounting, Business Administration, Economics)

• Investment accounting knowledge (nice to have) and expertise on financial instruments

• Classification of financial assets in IFRS9 or investment accounting would be a plus

• Good experience with SAP FI

• Fluent in English (German is a plus)

• Excellent technical and analytical skills, logical in approach and high attention to detail

• Excellent understanding of numbers and processes

• Good user skills in MS Office (esp. Excel)

• ACCA, CECCAR or similar diplomas are a plus
