What our employees say

Meet Andy, Head of Analytics

Allianz invests heavily in our data capability, so we can deliver the most sophisticated data-driven solutions that create value for our customers and our business. In my Datalab team, we work alongside data colleagues, IT and business experts in order create insights and data products powered by data science, machine learning and location intelligence. The work we do is hugely varied both in terms of the business problem, and the technical solutions, which makes it an incredible area to work in order to hone your skills.

I have a background in both computer science and commercial finance, so one of the most satisfying parts of my role is to see solutions, which began life as an idea or a question, and have now been translated into live solutions that deliver substantial financial benefits for our business. I encourage experts in my team to be curious, and to learn and practice topics outside of their core discipline, and I feel very fortunate to work with such a talented and versatile team.

Meet Caroline, Principle (BI)

I’ve been in various roles within data at Allianz for over 10 years, most recently moving into the Data & Insight Business Partner role.  I have been fascinated by the wealth of information data can provide since my days at University studying Psychology.

Data has become such a large part of many organisations over the years, and is constantly evolving and becoming more and more exciting.  Life in the data team at Allianz is certainly no exception to this with a move towards an Agile way of working and new techniques and opportunities coming through.

My favourite part of working in the data team at Allianz is seeing how the whole organisation benefits from and utilises the products and services from our team, meaning you have the opportunity to work across many different areas.  My advice if anyone is looking to join the data team would be to go for it!

Meet Kartik, Principle (Value Management)

I believe the success of Allianz’s strategy is significantly depending upon exploiting valuable and relevant  data, from harnessing insights up to generating revenue streams from novel data products. I’m part of the Specialist Services team, which turns Allianz’s data aspirations into data capabilities and trusted data solutions that deliver to end users across the organisation for informed decision making. By using defined data capabilities, we can help to understand, model and architect the changes necessary to achieve our strategic objectives. We are providing the foundation, structure and data fabric that underpins every business process.

My passion for data with the art of information architecture allows me to apply innovative architecture and design patterns within our data platforms that enclose the elements required to support the entire data lifecycle, from cloud data architecture, data management to AI and machine learning models. I work together with the team represented by experts across the globe to co-create data products and get the most value from them. I would say this is the best part of my job showing our expertise on modern data platforms at global level with different focuses such as improving customer experience, optimizing costs, generating revenue, obtaining data insights, among others.

Meet Desmond, Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer, I’m working as a hands-on development lead for one of the IT squads, working on multiple projects in a hybrid cloud environment. One of such projects entails working with various stakeholders to build a data model, adhering to Data Vault 2.0 principles, for all policy data across various Line of Businesses and customer segments for a set analysis period. Working in an agile environment, to iteratively develop and build real time and batch processing pipelines to feed a CIM (Common Ingestion Model) for further downstream analysis and reporting.

Within Allianz, I’m able to build upon my extensive infrastructure, development, and team management experience, working as part of a world beating global technical team, building and maintaining complex solutions across the company.

Meet Claire, Head of Commercial Lines Pricing

I’d like to thank you for your interest in a Pricing role at Allianz.  We are committed to significantly growing our capability in this space and it is exciting to have the opportunity to expand our team and complement the group of significantly talented individuals that are already working with us.

We are passionate about finding talented individuals who love getting to grips with data and finding opportunities provide insight and add business value. If this sounds like you then I hope everything that you read fills you with excitement and curiosity to find out more.

Meet Harriet, Data Graduate

I joined Allianz as a Data and Technology Graduate in September 2021 after graduating from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Accounting in 2020. Technology is a huge part of day-to-day life and data is at the heart of this, my interest in this area began at University after completing several data analytics and modelling projects.

Since joining Allianz I have been fortunate enough to work with many interesting and highly skilled professionals who have already taught me a lot. Over my two year graduate scheme I will be placed in six different areas of the data function which include; Data Management and Quality, Reference and Master Data Management, Specialist Services, Business Intelligence, Data Development, and Data Analytics. These placements will give me exposure to many different areas which is an amazing and very exciting opportunity.
