Job Purpose/ Role:
Allianz Re is a division of Allianz SE within the H9 Resort with offices in Munich, Singapore, Dublin, and Zurich. Allianz Re offers reinsurance solution and services for Allianz internal OEs and reinsurance protection external Insurance Companies and is the Group’s reinsurance vehicle which actively manages risk and capital. The posted position is based in Vienna and reporting to the Regional Team Head for CEE (intra-group) reinsurance, the Client Reinsurance Expert CAT will take care of of all client management activities around all CAT reinsurance programs in the CEE region plus the other Segment regions like MENA-Africa and AsiaPacific. This role is the key contact for Client Underwriters across the segment regional responsibility, Cat specialists and the Allianz OEs for all topics around CAT exposure and its management via reinsurance contracts.    

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Consult Munich UW to determine CAT reinsurance (Excess of Loss, Aggregate Excess of Loss, Quota Share) pricing in line with established AZ Re pricing and broker benchmarking process; challenge consistency and representativeness of final price with the benchmarking broker; lead techical exchange and alignment with the benchmarking broker; manage the renewal process in a timely and efficient manner (including broker price benchmarking process)
  • Act as Consultant for Allianz Re Client Underwriters and OEs and negotiate implementation of CAT reinsurance solutions to meet Group objectives; challenge proposed/existing CAT RI structures in terms of effectiveness 
  • Develop CAT market knowledge and analyse/evaluate market information; gather in-depth understanding of
  • cedents in terms of CAT exposure, CAT underwriting and reinsurance buying behaviour
  • Analyze OE reinsurance contract wordings and make proposals for optimization and compliance with AZ Re governance (ASOR, standard wordings, manadatory exclusions)

 

Qualifications:

  • University degree
  • Fluent English    

 

Experience & Key skills:    

  • Min. 3-5 years of experience in Reinsurance underwriting or CAT analytics
  • Experience in CAT model appliance and interpretation of results for validation 
  • Deep knowledge of reinsurance pricing and its documentation
  • Strong proactive & innovative mind-set
  • Very good analytical skills, positive affinity to numbers
  • Ability to present and explain results
  • Knowledge around Client issues
  • High level of customer centricity
  • Ability to work in an international team
