Job Purpose/Role

 

We’re looking for a Senior Reinsurance Specialist (m/f/d) at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) based in Munich or London. 

 

In this role, you will be in charge of effective placement of reinsurance for Line of Business (LoB) Property and other AGCS reinsurance placements as well act as the liaison to the CAT team. You will support AGCS in managing the reinsurance market cycle. You will also overcome the LoB’s thinking and build a holistic / total balance sheet mindset to drive improvements in the reinsurance decision making process. You will support the development of metrics and processes that allow an evaluation of each treaty which is placed by AGCS. You will be reporting to the Head of Reinsurance Corporate and Specialty Lines.

Key Responsibilities:


In this role you will…

 

  • Closely interface with various departments (CUO, Claims, Planning...) in order to collect all relevant information to prepare the Renewal submission for the renewal. You will prepare Renewal Submission for LOB Property, Short Tail Aggregate and Core Aggregate
  • Complete correspondence with the external partners (RI and Broker) on all topics in respect of the responsible LoB. (Treaty, Cash Flow, Claims, etc.)
  • Participate at regular meetings with Reinsurer and Broker to discuss open topics and next steps during the whole year
  • Ensure correct set up and update of Overview Sheets. You will double check and monitor system entries (Global Genius) completed by the Reinsurance Assistant
  • Ensure regular updates about status of Renewal to the Global Head of Reinsurance. You will regularly participate in Quarterly Claims Reserve meeting for Property (because of CAT-Claims)
  • Act as the liaison for Claims and CAT Department; prepare quarterly closing and claims reporting    Support Realistic Disaster Scenario (RDS) net calculations (application of reinsurance)

 

Key Requirements / Skills / Experiences:

 

 

  • Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Business Administration or other area that involves a strong focus on quantitative analysis
  • Completion of relevant professional insurance qualification
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional reinsurance experience and in-depth understanding of reinsurance practice
  • Expert knowledge of reinsurance instruments, underlying business and Actuarial / Risk Capital requirements                                    
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of technical and practical background in one industrial insurance LoB, general understanding of all major LoB’s and a robust understanding of actuarial principles and practices
  • Experience of working internationally and of remotely managing and developing global teams across numerous locations
  • High expertise in Reinsurance Portfolio with ability to gather and analyze underlying portfolio data; analyze trends and scenario plans
  • Strong expertise in Pricing with ability to analyse pricing work from RI Analytics team and broker to ensure adequate pricing        
  • Good expertise in contract drafting and interpretation with ability to design, develop and implement consistent, robust global reinsurance wordings    
  • Good expertise in Risk Reward, Underwriting and Actuarial with ability to evaluate risk reward effects of reinsurance, e.g. impact on P&L and capital position of company
  • Great analytical skills                
  • Excellent Stakeholder Management with ability to develop and positively influence key, strategic position holders across locations and functions 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills                        
  • Fluent English skills are required
