Job Purpose/Role


Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) is the specialist insurer for large Corporate and Specialty risks. Within   our Risk Consulting unit (ARC), we build a team of experts dedicated to Financial Line exposure management. Our ambition is to build the market leading AGCS portfolio via the best tools, data analytics and people. 


Reporting directly to the Global Head Risk Consulting Liability/ESG, you will evaluate legal & ESG exposures for professional liability and management liability policies with the potential to apply this expertise also to other insurance Lines of Business. The role is part of a Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) shift to Data & Analytics that focuses primarily on joining forces with an internal specialist from UW, pricing actuaries, claims specialists, Risk Engineers, and external data providers to perform analysis on internal and external data to determine the impact of trends on AGCS' Financial Lines UW decisions.

Key Responsibilities


In this role you will…
•    Provide in-debt analysis to the underwriting teams focusing on acute exposures for Complex Financial Institutions. Therefore you will review and interpret applicable laws and regulations, legislative developments, exposure trends, case decisions, and claims verdicts to provide comprehensive risk assessment advice supporting a consistent underwriting decision-making process globally.
•    Assess near-term needs of UW Financial Lines using structured interview processes to establish business priorities for predictive data analytics; consult with technical subject matter experts and advise the business on options, risks, costs, vs. Benefits.                                               
•    Collaborate with internal and external data experts and providers to determine correlations between financial, non-financial/ESG data, and Financial Line exposures. Participate in the development and implementation of new initiatives and programs.                                            
•    Regularly provide guidance and suggestions on coverage developments, industry trends, and new exposures.
•    Assist in data analysis based on internal risk assessment results, UW, claims, and external data to identify and assess trends as a basis for UW decisions for Financial Lines.
•    Best practice sharing - support development of cross-LoB solutions that combine data analytics knowledge of separate exposures, available technological options, and process facilitation techniques.  

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience


•    University degree preferably in Business Administration / Law / Economics/ Finance (CFA) or equivalent insurance specific qualification
•    1-2 years’ experience as financial analyst, ideally as forensic accountant is clearly an advantage
•    Strong Financial Assessment and Management skills i.e.: expert ability to assess risk exposures and hazards relevant to LoB
•    Strong analytical, numerical and adaptive problem-solving skills, using a logical and methodological  approach                                  
•    Familiar with non-financial data analysis including ESG                                       
•    Experience in International Underwriting P&C Business is a plus
•    Good understanding of the regulatory framework of Financial Institutions incl. capital markets                  
•    Advanced knowledge in Excel and Database applications
•    You can analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail
•    Ability to develop, implement and communicate strategies to address significant trends or changes in the business
•    Fluent English required
