Job Purpose / Role: 

In this role, you will act as CFO Business Partner to Global Line of Business (LoB) Heads for Property and Energy & Construction providing consistent and comprehensive performance management and business steering support with strong focus on capital and volatility management. You will ensure consistent translation of business actions into (aspired) financial impacts. Moreover, you will ensure  consistent tracking along the execution of such actions as well as facilitating continuous challenging of business actions against overall aspiration.

Key Responsibilities: 


In this role, you will…

  • Provide consistent and comprehensive performance management and business steering support to Global LoB Heads for Property and Energy & Construction, ensuring tight alignment between Global and Regional actions
  • Throughout reporting and planning cycle, you will ensure effective and efficient financial steering of results and value drivers for LoBs Property and Energy & Construction
  • Drive transparent and high-quality reporting, forecasting and planning process, consolidating and aligning global view with contributions from sub-LoBs in the regions, ensure best-practice sharing within and across functions towards continuous improvements of global standards
  • Drive pro-active and tight exchange among all business steering stakeholders to ensure comprehensive view on business performance; Connect all stakeholders and facilitate continuous exchange amongst them to provide solid foundation of bold business steering. Act as one-stop-interface for Finance related topics to CUO business partners; Ensure efficient support of Business Partners for the Regions
  • Lead team to high-performing bold steering function by setting challenging targets, monitoring progress and addressing performance issues appropriately; Coach and develop employees by empowering them team to execute tasks independently and fostering mindset shifts towards New AGCS


Key requirements / experiences / skills:

  • Excellent tertiary qualification (ideally Master), preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, or any other analytical science appropriate discipline or qualified by experience in related discipline
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in leading and developing international and virtual teams within a complex global matrix environment
  • Several years of managerial experience in insurance or financial services with the Planning and Controlling area
  • Several years of experience in leading change and delivering large scale international projects in various business scenarios, including, e.g., restructuring, integration, growth as well as in communication of results to a variety of stakeholders incl. senior management
  • Considerable experience in reporting and business analysis, concepts and requirements of an international portfolio with high volatile segments
  • Good understanding of the product portfolio
  • Deep understanding of financial and non-financial value drivers and their impacts on capital and volatility management
  • Excellent ability to drive transparent and high-quality reporting, forecasting and planning process along financial and non-financial KPIs
  • Proficiency in reporting and planning tools (SAP, APP) as well as MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint), also to push for further simplification and automation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant accounting policies, standards and processes (e.g.  GAAP, IAS, IFRS)
  • High ability to navigate complexity by identifying & initiating appropriate remediation & follow up, anticipate and resolve issues before these transpire
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and conflict management skills as well as good coaching and training skills
  • Excellent decision making skills
  • Optional further qualification from professional associations (accounting, actuarial, risk management, underwriting) would be a plus
  • Fluency in English is required. Any other languages would be a plus
