The primary purpose of this role is to assist with the development and promotion of a strong risk culture for technology risk across the organisation and help challenge activities and decisions that may materially affect the organisation's technology risk profile.

 

You'll be responsible for:

  • Support the organisation by identifying key and emerging risks related to technology,
  • cyber and business continuity risks which may have an impact on AAL
  • Provide operationally independent and objective Line 2 review and challenge activities in relation to technology risks facing AAL.
  • Act as the Line 2 business partner for the IT, Cyber and Resilience (Business Continuity) portfolios by providing advice to Line 1 teams in managing their risk obligations
  • Support Line 1 teams in the management of business-as-usual risk management, including incident and issue root cause analysis, adequacy of action plans and review of closure evidence etc.
  • Contribute to the AAL Risk Management Framework (RMF) and ensuring adherence to the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) by reviewing and challenging the quarterly and annual risk declarations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and support the execution of annual risk and control assessments.

Important to your success:

  • Able to identify, analyse and assess technology risks inherent to the business and work with Line 1 to ensure appropriate controls or actions are in place to manage the risks for future sustainability.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with relevant industry accreditations are highly regarded (CRISC, CISA or CISM etc)
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders to establish strong professional relationships and influence outcomes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.
