Job Purpose
The role will support the Regional Compliance, Data Privacy functions with the handling of day-to-day compliance,
This will include Data privacy issues for the Regional Office in Singapore and Allianz operating entities (OEs) in the Region.
The role will manage, document and align with Group Compliance (German Desk) on key compliance topics of customer protection, data privacy management and corporate compliance. The role will provide advise and business partnership to the region on Allianz Global Compliance standards, functional rules and frameworks.
This role will support the Regional Compliance Function in fulfilling its tasks relating to governance, risk management, oversight, and monitoring in relation to Asia Pacific Region Operating Entities (AZAP OEs), as well as Regional Office in Singapore (AZAP). It includes providing advice, support and guidance on compliance matters and escalated topics with focus on risk assessment, quality assurance, trainings, reporting and monitoring, as well as follow-up to ensure timely and effective mitigation of relevant compliance risks and issues.
This is a 1-year contract role.
What you do
You will
- Prepare and conduct OE compliance, governance and data privacy reviews and risk assessments as part of the Compliance Quality Assurance Program
- Perform completeness reviews of the documentation received from OEs, taking minutes of the meetings with OEs, Group functions, support in preparing reports and various materials for different internal stakeholders including Group
- Support in preparing and conducting trainings to employees on compliance, legal and data privacy topics
- Ongoing monitoring of compliance and risk frameworks, policies and procedures. This will include direct engagement with group on key areas and alignment on how best to strategically roll out group initiatives across the region
- Support the Regional Chief Compliance Officer and Regional Chief Legal Counsel in preparing reporting for senior management, committees and board
- Provide business oriented legal advice to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, this advice is to be in line with Allianz group frameworks and deliverables
- Coordinate the implementation of various legal requirements and regional projects in OEs, specifically as they relate to customer protection, the implementation of the retail risk reviews for product management
What you bring
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a compliance/risk department of a major international financial services company and experience in compliance management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint and Excel)
- Proficient understanding of laws and ability to manage translate these into business/insurance related guidance for each OE
- Able to work independently
- Have good organizational skills and able to multi-task
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent written/communication skills in English
- Proactive, resilient and self-driven
- Insurance / banking / regulatory work experience and/or compliance work experience
- International working experience and understanding vertical & horizontal requirements of global insurance organisations
- Knowledge of German Regulatory landscape, specifically as it relates to a holding company is advantageous
- Knowledge of Asian Regulatory landscape and sound understanding of how to manage directions from group is advantageous
- Legal framework applications and management is advantageous
- Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business Administration or any related field
