We are looking for a Graduate Trainee (Finance) to join our Allianz Commercial Graduate Program, based in Singapore.

Your Team:


Reporting to the Finance Manager, you are responsible to oversee the finance reporting needs mainly for Singapore and Hong Kong.  Your role is to enable accurate and timely deliverables of both internal and external regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with internal financial control procedures and guidelines.  You will also work with various global functions and affiliated Allianz entities to harmonize multiple business systems to support global data need for IFRS17 reporting.


Key Responsibilities


  • Validate and post monthly and quarterly journal entries, and perform account reconciliations including bank reconciliations on a timely manner.
  • Explain the results and the corresponding accounting background to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and review conspicuous entries and take required actions (e.g. proactive communication to relevant stakeholders, error correction, process improvements and so on).
  • Work jointly with the Finance teams on affiliated Allianz companies to achieve smooth reconciliations and settlements of intercompany transactions, within the affiliated company group.
  • Support Finance Manager to oversee retail bank account Cashflow Management and Control processes to ensure discrepancies are addressed and resolved in a systematic and timely manner.
  • Timely execution and fulfilment of internal and external reporting and related audit requirements.
  • Extensive collaboration with multiple functions and understand multiple feeder systems to drive the Strategic Retail Business solution.
  • Support Reinsurance (Cedants and Reinsurers) reconciliations and receivable chasing liaising with internal/external stakeholders to resolve related issues and achieving agreed KPI’s.
  • Managing settlement for premiums, commissions, credit control and daily finance operation processing on intermediaries.
  • Supporting on processing accounting entries and payment requests in accordance with assigned authority levels (e.g. invoice handling and intercompany clearings).
  • Any other ad-hoc job task under Finance department (including project management).



Key Experience / Requirements / Skills


  • Expected to graduate with a university degree by June 2024 in a related field (Accountancy, Business, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, etc.).
  • Fluency in English is mandatory and fluency in other Asian languages is advantageous.
  • Knowledge or prior experience in an insurance related company is advantageous.
  • Strong desire to learn the ropes in preparation for a career in the insurance industry.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, including demonstrated tenacity at data mining to discover root causes of results is advantageous.
  • Team player with strong service quality mind-set, adaptable, analytical, independent, meticulous, proactive, reliable, resilient, self-motivated, and willing to learn.
  • Very strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Duration: This is a permanent opportunity. After extensive training during the first 12 months on our Graduate Programme you will continue to work within the team and benefit from the lifelong learning opportunities that Allianz Commercial offers.
