Finance Accounting & Reporting manages the processes involving, monthly/yearly closing of the general ledger and ensuring accurate and timely reporting under management, Group, statutory and regulatory requirements. These include MAS, Tax, GST and Transfer Pricing. Reporting to the CFO, the incumbent will be part of the Finance organization and will work closely with other finance and cross-functional team members within the Company in delivering an effective and efficient Finance Accounting & Reporting.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Manage the Accounting activities during monthly and annual closings, including uploads into Group reporting system.
  • Serve as trusted custodian of financial reporting information for the Company.
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, including local / international accounting standards and group policies. This will include MAS, IRAS, ACRA submissions
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and tax authorities, to ensure that annual accounts, income tax and GST returns are submitted on time and in accordance with relevant requirements (IFRS, ACRA, IRAS)
  • Maintain up-to-date processes, workflows, and SOPs, ensuring adherence with processes and controls.
  • Support in the implementation of new IFRS standards, (in particular, IFRS 17 & IFRS 9)
  • Drive team priorities on the achievement of quality, accurate and timely delivery of financial information.
  • Support the Planning & Controlling team where needed in delivering insightful, actionable, and business-oriented analysis and reports to management and Group
  • Collaborate with Finance Operations team to ensure accurate and timely accounting, matching and reconciliations.
  • Process improvements and transformation relating to Accounting & Reporting for efficiency and strengthening of internal controls. 

Capabilities and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting and/or relevant professional qualifications
  • Minimum 5-7 years of accounting and reporting experience gained from insurance company or audit of insurance company in Singapore
  • Strong knowledge and experience in reporting under ACRA, MAS, IRAS and other regulatory requirements in Singapore
  • Sound technical competencies in IFRS standards, in particular, exposure to IFRS 17 and IFRS 9
  • High standards of accuracy and precision, highly organized
  • Strong resilience to work challenges for operating in a relatively new operation.
  • Good knowledge of the business and capable of critically analyzing numbers and drawing out relevant conclusions
  • Preferably experience with SAP financial accounting system
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills: ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise fashion and to develop effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Delivery orientated focus, with good aptitude in decision-making, problem-solving and strategic agility
