Objectives of the Role:

The role is to direct and organize the actuarial functions, provide actuarial advice to CFO/Executive Committee, in order to maximize the value of business to shareholders in the long run. There is also a fiduciary duty to the Board of Directors and the Regulator.

The key responsibilities are:

  1. Review and ensure proper pricing for all products
  2. Review and arrange necessary reinsurance arrangement
  3. Ensure that dividend philosophy is properly set up and dividend scales are properly recommended
  4. Compute and manage the solvency of the company in collaboration with Risk Dept
  5. Perform experience analysis and ensure the reasonableness of actuarial assumptions on pricing / valuation / planning
  6. Proper provision and reporting on the liabilities of insurance policies and to ensure the adequacy of reserves
  7. Perform business projection and other necessary actuarial reports, e.g. EV report
  8. Ensure cost of sales compensation are properly appraised
  9. Give recommendations and opinions on the management of the OE’s insurance / underwriting risks as well as on the OE’s solvency position.
  10. Build a strong actuary team
  11. Other tasks assigned from reporting manager.

 

Qualifications

Master or above in actuarial, insurance or finance related

At least 10 years of experience in the Actuarial area, at least 5 years of managing experience in the Finance or Actuarial area

At least 3 years post qualification from a recognized Actuarial body (e.g. Society of Actuaries, Institute of Actuaries)
