The Group Underwriter’s main mission is to price international Health & Life business. The scope includes new and renewal business and requires risk analysis studies to be carried out such as to ensure risk acceptance and associated terms and conditions are set-out in accordance with AWP H&L underwriting guidelines and internal processes. He/she will assist the Senior underwriter in their day to day tasks and act as a knowledgeable resource capable of offering creative solutions within a goal oriented environment. 

What you do

The main missions are:

• Price new and renewal Health and Life & Disability business
• Manage the renewal of existing business
• Assess risks and price in accordance with internal norms
• Communicate with the Sales team in Paris and Customer Relationship Managers in Dublin with regards to pricing queries and communicate with brokers and clients on need basis
• Review requests for requote and change of benefits / policy conditions
• Carry-out daily activity autonomously in accordance with internal processes
• Solve potentially complex technical problems

What you bring

Qualification      

• Fluent in English
• Fluent in French
• 3 to 5 years of experience in an underwriting/pricing function
• Experience within the insurance industry, preferably within International Health/Life Insurance.
• Experience working  with short deadlines
• Mathematics and statistical qualification or similar
• Advanced Excel skills to include familiarity with advanced formulas, functions etc.
• Highly consistent and persistent approach to carrying out duties
• Very meticulous, strong attention to details and controls
• Team player, commitment and cooperation
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time management skills
