What you do

Within the Global Operations (COO) function, the department Operations Steering & Controlling is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the financial and performance management processes of the Operations. This involves strategic financial planning, budgeting and analysis to support effective decision-making and global Operations performance. The unit contributes to the organization’s overall success by ensuring financial health, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and providing valuable insights to support the achievement of strategic goals. Its scope is global COO across +50 business units and all Lines of Business (LoB) with approx. 17,000 FTE. 


As Financial Planning & Analysis Expert you report to the Head of Central Operations Steering & Controlling to drive and support on financial reporting, planning, forecasting and analysis and optimizing its underlying processes leveraging new tools and technology. 

  • Coordinate the regular reporting, planning and forecasting of Operations cost & productivity of all business units and lines of business
  • Drive and contribute to the development, implementation, harmonization, optimization and automation of global Ops Steering & Controlling tools and procedures following a global approach with regional & local shaping (e..g, PowerBI based forecasting)
  • Collaborate with other functions (within and outside COO) on data initiatives, especially with regards to cross-functional interfaces and dependencies (e.g., early warning system with Underwriting & Transformation Office)
  • Review & document the global Ops Finance data model / architecture and contribute to a streamlined dataset 
  • Teach & train colleagues on topics around data, processes & tools as well as Finance literacy


What you bring

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills. You need to be a team player with background in Finance  and/or Operations performance management background with high motivation and energy, eager to learn more about insurance and service business, its core operations and underlying drivers for cost & productivity. 

  • 3+ years experience working within Operations, Finance, IT, consulting or a similar analytical role with affinity to new technologies
  • You have a passion for data, technology and analytics, translating data-driven insights into decisions and actions
  • Have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel (incl. VBA) and BI tools; preferably programming skills (e.g., Python)
  • IT technical affinity as well as knowledge and practical experience in handling databases and process systems
  • You’re comfortable with multiplex setups driven by a big number of (senior) stakeholders in a multicultural enviornment
  • Fluent in English, additional language as a plus
