As Business Development Director you will generate new B2B partnerships through direct sales calls and attendance at industry conferences and tradeshows.

The ideal candidate is a well-connected, seasoned sales professional in the travel industry with experience in multiple channels and handling long sales cycles.

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Identify new opportunities, prospect for new clients, recommend profitable strategies,
  • Develop and present proposals, negotiate and close agreements.
  • Grow the company's sales revenues in the online, supplier and retail distributor markets in the travel and ticket industries. This includes technology companies that facilitate sales partners.
  • Participate in the development of marketing messages and collateral.
  • Represent the company at industry functions.
  • Recommend new products that address new and evolving consumer and partner needs.
  • Facilitate implementation of new accounts as needed, to ensure a smooth transition to the account management team.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business or related field or combination of relevant education and work experience.
  • Minimum of Five (5) years proven track record of achievement in sales.
  • Experience with e-Commerce sales or development (technical understanding a plus).
  • Minimum of Five (5) years of experience in the travel industry OR (3) years of internal experience with Allianz Partners.
  • Experience with travel insurance is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SaaS technology, API’s, white labels,
  • Experience and comfort making cold calls and conducting sales pitches both in person and using virtual meeting software.
  • Proficient with PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Proficient with Salesforce or another CRM tool.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% primarily in the U.S. with potential for international travel.
