We are looking for a SR Workers Compensation Adjuster (m/f/d), to handle California specific claims.  This role will be 100% remote.

The Impact You Will Have

Proactively investigate, negotiate and resolve workers compensation California specific claims involving complex issues and/or litigation.

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

  • Responsible for proactive claim management including directing and/or performing investigation, regulatory compliance, evaluation, negotiation, and disposition of moderate to high exposure claims.
  • Successful accomplishment requires innovative and hands-on claim, medical, and litigation management.
  • Meet or exceed all individual metric and competencies goals. 
  • Assist in achieving department targets and metrics. 
  • Investigate Workers Compensation claims, including coverage determination and evaluation of loss exposures.
  • Settle Workers Compensation claims through payment or denial and negotiate to ensure efficient and competitive settlement.      
  • Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AzC Claims Standards procedures and guidelines.
  • Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate.
  • Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business
  • Act as a technical reference point and provide training/coaching to less experienced team members.                                                                     
  • Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process (e.g. underwriting, MMC, ARC, operations). 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationship with key brokers and clients and other relative stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters).                  

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.                                    
  • 5-7 years’ experience in specialized understanding of Workers Compensation products and portfolio with technical specialist knowledge as well as an understanding of regional/local Workers Compensation insurance markets and competitor landscape 
  • California certification required                                  
  • 5-7 years’ experience in recognized relationship building with broker and peer group level and well established within local market.                                                          
  • 5-7 years’ experience in solid understanding of Workers Compensation legal and regulatory framework 
  • 5-7 years’ experience working in global complex matrix organization leading a team of professionals.

 

The annualized base pay range for this role is $74,455 to $123,055. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package.  As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
