What you do:

This position will lead the development and management of insurance risk hedging programs, and provide strategic leadership.

  • Managing the overall hedging profit and loss across certain hedged product lines or leading the maintenance and improvement of certain programs.
  • Leading the implementation of new valuation models. Leading hedge implementation for new products.
  • Providing strategic leadership and identifying major points of risk. Proactively searching for weaknesses in the hedging process and identifying systematic problems.
  • Overseeing Principal or below employees and developing employees.
  • Coordinating with other areas in the company. Providing quantitative support and guidance to other areas of the company.
  • Acting as a key contact for problems or concerns, especially related to production hedging.


What you bring:

  • 7-10 years’ experience required: Variable or equity-indexed annuity dynamic hedging. Must include trade preparation, derivatives management, multi-greek analysis, asset and liability analysis, in-house analytics development, software testing, and pricing model analysis.
  • Expert knowledge of derivatives pricing, annuities, and exotic derivatives. Expert understanding of equity volatility surface and volatility dynamics. Intermediate programming skills. Basic database experience. Basic experience with Excel, Matlab or equivalent. ASA, FSA, and CFA designations considered.
  • Four-year degree required: Quantitative Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or equivalent
