What you do:

The Product Contract Group is on the front-end of driving results, delivering innovative products to customers, and contributing to the financial strength of the company. One of the Product Contract Group’s primary roles is to draft contract forms for new or enhanced products and obtain state regulatory approval for their use, ensuring the forms are compliant with applicable regulations and consistent with the company’s objectives. An additional primary role of the Product Contract Group is to lead reinsurance initiatives by collaborating with business partners, negotiating with our reinsurance partners, and drafting complex reinsurance agreements. Members of this team work both independently and as members or leaders of cross-functional teams.

A Senior Product Contracting Associate is responsible for participating in and/or leading various contract form drafting initiatives, working with business partners to ensure successful initiatives, while also partnering closely with team members on filing and obtaining state product approvals, as needed.

What you bring:

  • Lead or manage the drafting of new or revised product contract forms, working closely with business partners and subject matter experts.
  • Ensure that the drafted contract forms are consistent with product specifications and other forms, are compliant with regulations, and are written in a clear, concise, and consumer friendly manner.
  • Research and analyze regulations to ensure contract language meets product specification requirements while being compliant with regulations.
  • Participate in filing, obtaining, and maintaining state product approvals, including analyzing and applying state regulations.
  • Lead or participate in the drafting of new or amended reinsurance agreements, working closely with both internal business partners and third party reinsurers.

Key Requirements/Skills Experience

  • Four year degree required (or equivalent work experience)
  • Juris Doctor degree required
  • A minimum of two years’ contract drafting experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Good time-management skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • A keen attention to detail
