At Allianz Life, we are guided by our mission – we secure your future – and by our common goal of caring for tomorrow. We care for our employees by promoting an inclusive culture where everyone has the opportunity to grow and be rewarded for their success. We care for our customers by creating new products that help them protect their families and pursue their retirement goals. We care for our community by giving time, resources, and donations. And we care for the future by supporting sustainability, protecting the local environment, and promoting societal equity.

What you do:

Allianz Life’s multi-asset class general account portfolio supports the North American insurance and retirement businesses. You will manage the securitized and mortgage loan investment strategies within the $120B buy and hold fixed income assets of the general account.  The portfolio strategy is an outsourced, top down, liability driven strategy with a primary focus on investment yield.  The portfolio manager will steer approximately $30 billion of assets including CMLs, RML’s as well as public and private securitized investments (RMBS, CMBS, CLO, NT ABS) incorporating the team’s market and sector views.  You will work with both affiliated and unaffiliated asset managers to determine asset allocation, set investment standards, approve multiple transactions and monitor the portfolio vs the investment guidelines.  Daily investment decisions include determining if proposed investments deliver optimal investment income taking into account portfolio goals, capital efficiency, credit profile, accounting, company and regulatory rules.  The portfolio manager will partner with our asset managers and Allianz local and global teams in investments, legal, accounting, risk, actuarial and distribution to implement the investment strategy. The portfolio manager will help evaluate new asset managers and new investment proposals. You will report to the Head of Portfolio Management.

As a senior member of the AIM investment team, the role will work with the Head of Portfolio Management and other section heads to implement the strategy. You will need to stay in tune with market conditions including changes in value arising from interest rates, credit quality and liquidity premiums in both traditional and non-traditional asset classes and understand the effects on liabilities and capital.

The PM will join a team of investment professionals that have a history of sustained performance across a broad platform of asset classes, and must therefore have management and leadership skills in addition to having well-developed technical skills. You will advocate for our investment and risk management policies to senior management and employ a long-term investment horizon.
