What you do:

The Investment Systems Principal role is to assist the front office investment team with a substantial technology and process implementation project referred to as Business Transformation. The aim of these improvements is to enhance overall analysis and provide tools that will allow for better investment decision making.  The Business Transformation project will encompass strategic process improvements across the front, middle and back office as it pertains to data, analysis and technology. Scope is limited primarily to General Account AIM areas.


Job Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Leverage deep knowledge of fixed income and broader asset classes to develop business requirements to satisfy analysis needs across the entire front office team
  • Strategically collaborate with IT to implement solutions to satisfy business requirements
  • Use investment expertise to support the creation of a data dictionary
  • Test and evaluate data solutions for reporting and analysis
  • Utilize experiences with key investment platforms (i.e. FactSet, Bloomberg, PAM) to provide expert guidance to IT, operations, vendors and other business partners for systems/process enhancements
  • Propose data solutions using knowledge of accounting and operational data feeds and systems
  • Facilitate the rollout of system implementations and process changes arising from new technology
  • Utilize programming expertise (ex. SQL, VBA) to develop new and/or changes to automated processes
  • Use strong analytical/research skills to debug issues as they arise
  • Drive solutions and get buy in from key stakeholders on complex topics
  • Provide collaborative leadership to effectively coordinate with all areas of Investment Management


What you bring:

  • 6-7 years’ experience required: Relevant technical and business work experience (Finance or investment systems knowledge)
  • 6-7 years’ experience preferred: Technical experience or support of: PAM investment accounting system, Bloomberg and FactSet.
  • Experience with managing large scale projects.
  • Four-year degree required: Finance, Business Administration or other related field, specialized training or equivalent work experience
  • SQL knowledge required.
  • Strong inter-personal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced degree or CFA is a plus
