What you do:

You will be responsible for technical and business matters pertaining to Allianz Investment Management’s (AIM LLC) mutual fund and ETF businesses. You will become a subject matter expert of our Derivatives Risk Management Program (DRMP) and support the Derivatives Risk Manager to ensure the program’s effectiveness, in addition to working across teams to develop and validate non-DRMP tools and programs for automation and controls across middle and back offices of the investment adviser. Additionally, you will support the investment adviser’s management of subadvisers including manager selection and oversight, and support project management efforts associated with the ETF website, including close coordination with data providers and the website’s host. You will report to the VP, Advisory Solutions.

 

·       Help administer the Derivatives Risk Management Program, including:

o   Identification and assessment of the fund’s derivatives risk

o   Monitor risk guidelines

o   Stress testing of the fund’s portfolio to evaluate potential losses under stressed conditions

o   Daily calculation and reporting of fund’s VaR and backtesting of VaR calculation models that the funds use under the rule

o   Ensure system configuration of program runs optimally

o   Help administer AIM LLC’s Limited Derivatives Use Plan

·       Develop and validate tools and programs for other teams within Advisory Solutions to ensure a control environment and increase efficiencies

·       Support AIM LLC’s selection and oversight of subadvisers and fund managers, including:

o   Assist in new investment manager selection process across platforms

o   Monitor capital markets for impacts on mutual fund performance and evaluate effectiveness of subadvisers and fund managers

o   Review investment guidelines of subadvisers and fund managers for appropriateness and ensure adherence to guidelines are met

o   Conduct regular meetings with subadvisers and fund managers and provide fiduciary oversight

·       Support the management of data on ETF website and assist with new ETF launches and resets

·       Participate in other projects and initiatives

 

What you bring:

·       Four-year degree in quantitative finance, mathematics, financial engineering or related technical field

·       4-5 years’ experience with a minimum of 2+ years relevant derivatives experience, with preference to:

o   Fundamental understanding of derivative notional

o   Equity options and future valuations (including Greeks)

o   Valuation of swaps (TRS, IRS, CDS, Inflation Swaps)

o   Fixed income derivatives (Bond Futures, TBAs)

o   Foreign Exchange Instruments (FX Forwards, FX Swaps)

·       Knowledge of portfolio management fundamentals

·       Ability to communicate complex topics, verbal and written, in such a way that they can be understood by people with different backgrounds, including non-technical backgrounds

·       Programming (C# and VBA) and database management experience (SQL Server)
